I and the other co-leader, Sharon Stedman, are excited about beginning training for our first class of Stephen Ministers in early Jan. 2011.  There are 50 total hours of training.  Training will be done on a weekly basis and run through the latter part of May 2011.  After that the Stephen Ministers will be commissioned and start to have care receivers to work with.

Interviews of candidates are nearly complete and those who will be trainees will be selected shortly.  We are still in need of some male candidates.

Stephen Ministry is designed to help people deal with a variety of challenges that they might face in their lives.  Stephen Ministers work with such people who are in need of care and help them overcome the particular challenge.
