Are you a College Student in the Eau Claire Area?
We at First Presbyterian Church would like to welcome you to join us in any or all aspects of our faith community during your college experience. We offer support and fellowship through various activities. You are invited to join us for worship Sunday mornings at 9:00am as your schedule permits or various opportunities including: Wednesday Night Suppers, Choir, Education/Nurture Programming, Evening Prayer, etc..... Please contact the church office or Pastor Eric for more information or with any questions you may have.

You are also invited to take part in Common Ground Ministry at UWEC. Common Ground is a place to seek answers without being afraid to ask questions, a place for dialogue, and a place to put faith into action. Visit our Website: http://www.eccommonground.org/ . Our mission is to bring together individuals who are passionate about faith and social justice and wanting to question and reevaluate the meaning of both ideals. Common Ground is an emerging Christian student organization based at UW-EC. We value a welcoming community, open discussion of faith issues, interfaith dialogue, compassionate service, social justice, spiritual growth and integrity. We seek to build community, promote peace and understanding between individuals and groups, and grow as compassionate and life-giving people. We do this by striving to better understand Christ's teachings, learning from a variety of view-points and traditions, and practicing contemplative spirituality. Our group meets weekly for discussion and we are planning several service and social justice projects in the coming year. We would love to welcome any college-age students into our group and are looking for community member who share our values to join with us in this emergent ministry.

Adult Sunday Morning Class ~ The Adult Sunday School Class meets each Sunday morning at 10:30am-11:30am following worship starting September 16th. The class is usually led by CLN Elder John Stedman or Pastor Eric and consists of thoughtful topics and encourages open dialogue.
Evening Prayer ~ Wednesday evenings 6:15-6:45pm in the Fireside Room ~ One of the ancient practices of the Christian community, the gathering for evening prayer provides a restful opportunity to wind down from the end of busy and hectic days. We gather in the Fireside Room for a time of quite meditation, listening to scripture, and guided prayer. Soft chant in the background helps to focus our hearts and mind inward and upward, while the soft wafting smell of prayer incense helps to transport our spirits into a state of calm and peace. In the midst of our lives often lived at frantic pace. Evening prayer provides a much-needed time of refocus and renewal. If you've never tried it before, plan to join us starting September 5th. If you would have any questions about the practice, simple speak with Pastor Eric.
