The Outreach Committee is an established committee of the Session, composed of 6 members (3 classes of two) plus an Elder. The committee, while functioning independently, reports to, and works with, the Worship/Mission/Outreach committee.
The members determine the meeting time of this committee. In the past year, it has met on Tuesday evenings, with Pastor Eric attending if needed/necessary. The Elder representative is designated to attend both the meetings of the Committee and WMO.
The purpose of the Committee is to develop ideas and implement activities that will help publicize First Presbyterian Church in the larger community, and thereby extend an invitation to come and be a part of our church family. The committee reviews input given by the congregation via our goals process.
Since the formation of the committee, some activities have included:
- Delivering of candles and invitations to local homes during December, inviting people to join us on Christmas Eve and beyond.
- Promoting the Blessing of the Animals service.
- Booths at River Fest and other community events.
- Organizing members to participate in area parades and community festivals.
- Providing of welcome baskets and coffee mugs to guests.
- Providing for local newspaper advertising, as well as billboards.
- Providing for church directory listing in newspapers.
- Participating in Chamber of Commerce events
- Providing welcome packets to new students at UW-EC.
- Working with Mission committee on various fundraisers and projects, and other events that could draw community visitors.

The Outreach Committee are amateur volunteer developers, designers, administrators and managers who are working together to take the First Presbyterian Church Web Site to new heights in its relatively short life. First Presbyterian Church has some wonderfully talented people taking Open Source concepts to the forefront of congregational communication. Joomla! 1.5 is a major leap forward and represents the most exciting technological improvement in the history of FPC.
The Mission Statement of First Presbyterian Church is to "love God...love each other...and reach out to people." And the goal of all congregational events is to be "the perfect church for people who aren't." The Outreach Committees seeks, via a variety of events and efforts, to make this statement and goal manifest in our local community.
The Outreach committee hosts the annual Pancake Breakfast in December and the Sweet Corn and Brat Roast in August. They also assist with the annual Candlelight Spaghetti Supper in late January. Outreach seeks to get the word out in our community about the annual Blessing of the Animals worship service.
